Diamond DA50-RG

The DA50 Super Star first flew on April 4, 2007 and is built by Diamond Aircraft Industries in Austria. This aircraft is certified to fly with the Continental CD-300 diesel engine that delivers a power of 300 hp (224 kW), the fuselage is made of composite materials, it has retractable landing gear and a Garmin 1000 NXi glass flight deck. with autopilot. The development of this aircraft allowed to install different types of engines, for which some models with these variants were built and tested; 1) DA50-Super Star, Continental TSIOF-550-J avgas engine. 2) DA50-Twin Bottle, Austro Engine AE-300 diesel engine. 3) DA-JP7, Ivchenko-Progress AI-450S turboprop engine. 4) DA50-IV, SMA Engines SR305-230 diesel engine. 5) DA50-V, SMA Engines SR405-260 diesel engine. 6) DA50-VII, Variant A: SMA Engines SR460-360 diesel engine, Variant B: Lycoming avgas engine and Variant C: Ivchenko-Progress turboprop engine Sich AI-450S engine. (6) DA50-RG But it finally received the EASA type certificate in 2020, whit the Continental CD-300 diesel engine.
